What to Expect

WHERE are the worship services held?

Worship services are held in the Sanctuary at the front of the church (closest to Waterville Street). If you enter through the front door, the sanctuary will be immediately to the left. If you enter through the side door (east side of the building), you will turn to your left and walk though our Fellowship Hall to the Sanctuary. If you enter through the back of the church (north side of the building) you will walk through the gym and through Fellowship Hall to the Sanctuary. Most of our parking is located at the back of the church, so it is likely that you will be entering through this entrance.

What happens during WORSHIP?

We have one service at 10:00am.   Please join us!

Will there be a COLLECTION?

We take a collection, or offering, in every service. If you do not wish to contribute, just let the plate pass by. Many of our members give electronically, so they also may let the plate pass them by. No one will think anything of it if you do not contribute.

What should I WEAR?

There is no dress policy at Hope and there are no unspoken expectations. Attire ranges from casual to professional. Slacks for the ladies are just as popular as skirts and dresses. For the gentlemen, shirt sleeves are as common as jackets and ties. Some people worship in jeans. We are more concerned with worshiping the Lord and meeting your real-life needs than with what you wear. Our facility is fully air-conditioned in the summer months.

I don’t want to stand out or be INTRODUCED in worship!

You can expect enough people in the sanctuary during each service that you will not be conspicuous but you will probably be noticed and greeted by members of the congregation. We do NOT ask visitors to stand and be recognized! If you would like to let us know of your presence, please fill out a visitor card found in the pew racks and drop it in the offering plate or sign the attendance register that is passed out during the service. If you provide your mailing address, you will receive a note from one of our worship team members. You will not be contacted by a horde of people or committees!

I have CHILDREN. Where should they go on Sunday morning?

Children are ALWAYS welcome in worship, but if you would prefer we have a room off the sanctuary where you can rock your youngest and not miss anything in church. In addition we have a nursery that is fully staffed for children 4 and younger during both of our Sunday services.

For Children in preschool through 2nd grade, we offer a program called Godly Play during both of our services, and for our older children (3rd-6th grade) we have age appropriate worship and learning experiences during our 10:00 am worship service. For more info on these programs check out our  Children’s page .

We encourage our High School students to attend our services, or even better, volunteer as Ushers, Scripture Readers, Audio Visual Projection Techs, Coffee Hosts, or with our children's ministry.
